About

Hello!

Thanks for visiting our blog. We all work at Grindeys Solicitors, and we’ve joined together to raise money for the Douglas Macmillan Hospice and the Joe Gilligan Trust by taking on the 24 Peaks in 24 Hours challenge on 21st/22nd July 2012.

The 24 Peaks Challenge is one of the most demanding mountain walking events devised as a charity challenge.  It’s a tough physical challenge set in a stunning location, the heart of the Lake District. The challenge involves climbing:

–          24 peaks in the Lake District

–          Each one over 2,400 feet (including the highest peak in England

–          Walked in 24 hours, over one weekend

Apparently, the total ascent covered in the 24 Peaks Challenge is the equivalent of half of the total ascent of Mount Everest.  Not bad going for a group of like minded colleagues from Stoke on Trent?  We should point out that whilst some of the team are experienced walkers and climbers; many are not.  Whilst training for this challenge, some will be going on their first ever walk out in the country.  Hats off to everyone involved – this is a big deal and we want to raise loads of cash for two charities that are really important to us.

Please please please dig deep in your pockets to sponsor us and we will dig deep with our boots up each one of those 24 Peaks (and down again!).  We’ve set a fundraising target of £2,500. By donating you can help us smash this goal and really make a difference.

On our blog, you can see how we get on in training for this challenge, some of the views on the walks and you’ll also get to know a bit more about the characters that have come together to form the team.  By July, you will see how we get on during and after the Challenge.  Hopefully you will enjoy visiting our blog – and why not join in the fun and the banter?

Thanks in advance for all your support!
